Brazilian egg exports jump 30.9% in January - ABPA
Revenue climbs 53.1% as Asia and Middle East grow
Brazil exported 3,076 tonnes of fresh and processed eggs in January, up 30.9% from 2,357 tonnes in the same month last year, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA).
Export revenue totalled US$6.408 million in January, an increase of 53.1% compared to US$4.186 million in January 2025.
The United Arab Emirates was the leading destination for the month, increasing imports by 34% to 1,051 tonnes, up from 783 tonnes a year earlier.
Japan recorded a 267% increase in volume, importing 752 tonnes compared to 205 tonnes in January 2025. Shipments to Chile rose 184% to 371 tonnes from 130 tonnes, while exports to Mexico increased 65% to 284 tonnes from 172 tonnes.
ABPA president Ricardo Santin said the figures reflect a recovery in several key markets. He noted slower demand in destinations that showed atypical behaviour last year, such as the United States, alongside stronger performance in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
Santin said growth in Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Chile and Mexico points to greater diversification and reduced market concentration, bringing more stability to the sector. He added that the sector is consolidating its export strategy with a focus on higher value markets and more predictable contracts.
