Brazil sets record for chicken exports in first four months of 2026
April shipments also hit a monthly record despite a dip from March
Brazilian chicken meat exports from January to April 2026 were the highest on record, according to data from Secex compiled by Cepea. Brazil shipped 1.94 million tons in the first four months of the year, surpassing the previous record of 1.93 million tons in the final four months of 2025.
April shipments totalled 486,500 tons, down 3.5% from March but up 2.2% from the same month last year. This is the highest volume ever recorded for April in the Secex series, which dates to 1997.
China was the leading destination in April, importing 52,200 tons of Brazilian chicken meat, up 0.9% from the previous month.
