Genetics to take centre stage at SIAVS 2026 in São Paulo
Poultry, swine breeders to showcase advances in productivity
The genetic basis of animal protein production will be highlighted at the International Animal Protein Show (SIAVS 2026), which will be held from August 4 to 6 at the Anhembi District in São Paulo. With the presence of companies specialising in poultry and swine genetics, the event will present solutions that support productivity and quality gains throughout the chain, according to a recent press release from the Brazilian Association for Animal Protein (ABPA).
Companies in this sector work on developing breeding lines and supplying high-performance genetic material, focusing on characteristics such as weight gain, feed conversion, batch uniformity, and industrial yield. These advancements have a direct impact on the efficiency of production systems and the competitiveness of agribusinesses.
At SIAVS, the topic will be addressed in an applied manner, connected to other areas of the supply chain. Genetics integrates with nutrition, health, and management strategies, forming the technical basis that supports productive performance and the standardization required by the markets.
Key highlights include continuous improvement programs, data-driven selection, and technologies focused on consistent results at scale. Genetic advancements have enabled more efficient production cycles and greater predictability in operations.
The presence of these companies reinforces the technical nature of the event and expands opportunities for interaction between genetics suppliers, producers, and agribusinesses, focusing on practical application and decision-making.
"Genetics is the starting point for productive efficiency," said Ricardo Santin, president of ABPA. "It is from genetics that consistent gains in performance and quality are structured throughout the entire chain."
In addition to the trade fair, the event will feature a technical program that will include topics related to production efficiency, innovation, and trends in animal production.
SIAVS 2026 will occupy 45,000 square meters, a 65% increase compared to the previous edition, and is expected to bring together hundreds of exhibiting companies and visitors from more than 60 countries.
