Poultry farmers in São Paulo state saw their purchasing power against corn and soybean meal improve in April, according to Cepea, reversing a four-month slide.

The recovery was driven by falling feed input prices rather than rising chicken values, as live bird prices held largely flat during the month.

The average price for live chicken in São Paulo state settled at BRL 4.44/kg in late April, a marginal decline of 0.6% compared to March. Notably, the steep month-on-month drops seen in earlier months did not continue, suggesting the market may be finding a floor.
