Brazil chicken exports hit record high in first half of 2026
June shipments surge 40%; China and Japan lead demand
Brazil's chicken meat exports reached all-time highs in the first half of 2026 for both volume shipped and revenue, Reuters reported, citing industry group ABPA on Monday. The sector overcame challenges in logistics and geopolitics during the period.
First-half exports totaled 2.94 million metric tons, up 12.9% from a year earlier, ABPA said.
Revenue in the January-June period reached $5.7 billion, a 17% increase year-on-year.
"First-half results were achieved in an environment marked by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the logistical challenges arising from that context," ABPA head Ricardo Santin said.
Brazil significantly expanded its presence in strategic and value-added markets despite the backdrop, he added, citing the European Union and China.
In June alone, shipments surged 40.6% to 482,800 tons from a year earlier, while revenue rose 54.7% to $985.5 million.
China led June destinations with 50,100 tons, followed by Japan with 46,600 tons and the United Arab Emirates with 46,200 tons.
