Brazil chicken prices fall on weaker demand in July
Chicken's competitiveness relative to pork falls nearly 70%

By: Wholesale prices for chilled chicken meat in Greater São Paulo declined in the first half of July compared to June, reducing chicken's price competitiveness relative to both beef and pork, according to Brazil's Centre for Advanced Studies on Applied Economics (Cepea).
Comparing July 2025 and July 2026 averages, chicken's competitiveness relative to pork fell by nearly 70%. Prices for beef carcass and special pork carcass also declined compared to June, but by less than chicken.
Cepea attributed the weakness in chicken demand partly to school vacations, with industry sources reporting high inventories that are limiting any price recovery
