ABH Miratorg Reports Strong Performance

RUSSIA - In its report for the third quarter of 2012, ABH Miratorg reports significant increases in its crop area and harvest from last year as well as positive developments in its feed, pork, beef, poultry and meat processing enterprises.

For the first nine months of 2012, the total volume of crops, harvested by ABH Miratorg within the framework of the harvesting campaign was 498,300 tonnes, which is 89 per cent more than in the same period of 2011 (263,500 tonnes).

The area of cultivated lands of by the Holding increased by 67,380 hectares within the same period, bringing the total to 264,900 hectare, which is 34 per cent higher than the indicator of the same period of 2011 (197,500 hectares).

Compound feed production

For the period January to September 2012, the total volume of compound feed produced by ABH Miratorg was 527,100 tonnes, which is 87.8 per cent higher than the same indicator of year 2011 (280,700 tonnes).

In 2012, the commissioning of the third feed mill with production capacity of 360,000 tonnes is scheduled in the Belgorod region. The estimated annual production capacity of the three feed mills in Belgorod region is 1.1 million tonnes. The planned volume of compound feed production in 2012 is 731,500 tonnes, which is sufficient to supply 2.1 million pigs on the Holding's pig complexes with compound feed in 2012. ABH Miratorg is now the top producer of compound feed in Russia.

Pork production

Over the first nine months of 2012, the volume of pork produced by the Holding was 197,400 tonnes live weight, which is 65 per cent more than in the same period of 2011 (119,600 tonnes).

Production growth is based on commissioning of new pig complexes and the main herd increase. ABH Miratorg is the leading pork producer in Russia.

Meat processing

The production volume of JSC Pig Complex Korocha, meat processing enterprise of ABH Miratorg (Belgorod region) for the period January to September 2012 was 122,600 tonnes. Compared to the same period of last year at 96,400 tonnes, 2012 output is up by 27 per cent.

Distribution

The sales volume of ABH Miratorg over the first nine months of 2012 was 258,000 tonnes, six per cent more than in the same period of 2011.

Implementation of beef production project

  • Bryansk region: A total of 19 cattle farms have been completed in Bryansk region, 16 of them are stocked with cattle of the Aberdeen Angus breed. The total volume of dam herd on the farms of Holding in Bryansk region is more than 52,000 head. In the fourth quarter of year 2012, ABH Miratorg will complete the construction of four more farms and increase the volume of dam herd to be 63,000 head.

  • Kaliningrad region: In September 2012, ABH Miratorg completed the construction and stocking of one cattle farm in the Ozersk district of Kaliningrad region. The current volume of dam herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle on that farm is 1,750 head. Before the end of 2012, the Holding will complete the construction and stocking of two farms in Kaliningrad region, bringing the total herd volume up to 12,000 head.

Poultry project realisation

Within the framework of ABH Miratorg's poultry project in the Vygonichskiy district of Bryansk region, in construction are a feed mill with elevator, a complex for the slaughter and initial processing of poultry, as well as of all seven scheduled complexes for broilers breeding.

Ten of 12 scheduled poultry breeding sites for parent stock and rearing stock are under construction in the Trubchevsk district of Bryansk region.

Within the autumn-winter period of 2012, the commissioning of compound feed mill is scheduled with production capacity of 360,000 tonnes per year, as well as of one poultry site for rearing stock.

Production of processed products

ABH Miratorg has totally completed the reconstruction of the plant for manufacturing Miratorg-Zapad brand products in the Kaliningrad region.

An external audit of production has been carried out by certification company, SGS, according to IFS standard with the highest grade received and SQMS Grade B.

Production has started of the brands, Miratorg and Guruma. In the third quarter 2012, the plant started producing products for McDonalds Russia.
