The international trade fair for livestock and poultry ‘AGROS’ opens its doors today at Crocus Expo IEC in Moscow, Russia. With active participation from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the international exhibition of animal husbandry, breeding and feed production is also supported by important industry associations from the professional livestock sector.

AGROS, which is organized by DLG’s (German Agricultural Society) subsidiary in Russia ‘DLG RUS’, is recognized as a key event in the Russian livestock sector, which is reflected in the high profile speaker attendance: Alexei Mayorov, Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council on Agriculture and Food Policy and Environmental Management; Andrey Razin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation; Sergey Lisovsky, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; and Members of the Committee on Agrarian Issues and heads of industry associations.

The AGROS trade fair is a must-attend industry event for animal and fodder production professionals in Russia and neighboring countries. Thematic areas of the AGROS exhibition cover all livestock segments of professional animal husbandry: Dairy and beef cattle, pig, poultry, goat and sheep production at all stages of the value chain.

At AGROS 2022, 352 exhibiting companies – up 25 percent from 2021 - from 26 countries will present modern equipment and machinery for keeping and feeding livestock, fodder production and forage procurement, as well as genetics, feed and feed additives, veterinary and hygiene products.

This year for the first time, AGROS will be held across two exhibition halls, one of which will house the “Feed Solutions and Veterinary Products” exhibitions. More than 60 companies will be taking part in these expanded exhibition areas, which significantly increase the offering of AGROS for poultry and pig production professionals.

Alongside the exhibition, an extensive and varied Business Program awaits professional visitors and industry leaders. Over 300 expert speakers will be discussing the most pressing issues in the industry.

Traditionally, a significant part of AGROS business agenda is dedicated to dairy farming. At this year’s edition, the exhibition offers additional business content for professionals in poultry and pig production, which will be supported by leading Russian and international experts. Veterinary medicine and nutrition will round off this expanded program.

On 25 January, the first day of the exhibition, the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia will host three events in parallel including “Antibiotic resistance is a growing problem in livestock farming”.

The Federal Farmers Forum (FFF) is celebrating its premiere at this year's AGROS trade fair. On 27 January, 11 events for representatives of small farm enterprises will take place, and also, for the first time, AGROS will host the “All-Russian Congress of Agricultural Cooperatives”.

The "Best at AGROS" awards recognize innovative solutions in the field of animal and fodder production. The announcement of the winning entries, this year amounting to 28, across the categories "Best Product", "Best Scientific Development" and "Best Feed Solution" will once again take place as part of the official opening ceremony of the exhibition.r
