Proposal for Sustainable Production

Official sources say that the proposal was approved at an executive meeting of the State Council, China's cabinet.

The meeting approved a draft on the import and export of 'genetic resources' of livestock and poultry. It aimed to promote the 'sustainable development of China's animal husbandry' sector.

The regulation stipulated certain conditions where the import and export of the resources could be allowed, and the co-operation between Chinese and foreign researchers could be approved.
