Russia is intending to export more poultry and grain to European Union in future, says Aleksey Gordeev, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation (Minselkhoz), reports Meat Russia. Mr Gordeev was speaking at a press conference linked to the International Green Week Exhibition held in Berlin, Germany.

Citing LIGABusinessInform the report continues that Mr Gordeev is confident that Russian poultry is better quality than product from the USA.

Furthermore, he explained that Russian agricultural output grew by 11 per cent in 2008, and the value of agricultural product sales with EU totalled to €12 billion.

The Head of Minselkhoz anticipates no problems importing pork and dairy products from Germany to Russia, adds the Meat Russia report.
