Egg Price Increased

INDIA - The price of one egg has been raised to 2.20 rupees.

The Namakkal zone of the National Egg Co-ordinaton Committee has increased the price of an egg to 2.20 rupees (INR), reports The Hindu.

The price was increased due to reduced production in poultry farms during summer season.

The rise in the demand for eggs due to general elections was also a reason for the increase in the price, a press release issued by NECC zonal chairman, P. Selvaraj, said.
