OIE Reports Avian Influenza A(H7N9) in Zhejiang

CHINA - The Chinese veterinary authorities have reported an outbreak of low pathogenic avian influenza A(H7N9) in Zhejiang.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 6 on 26 April.

According to the report, three birds were found affected.

Gene sequencing performed at the Harbin Veterinary Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (national reference laboratory for avian influenza) showed that it is low pathogenic avian influenza virus (LPAI).

The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive.
