Print This Page Quake affects 30,000 to 40,000 poultry farms in Pakistan
PAKISTAN - Former Chairman Pakistan Poultry Association Khalil Sattar Wednesday said one million egg-laying chicken birds were killed in northern areas of the country when massive earthquake devastated several parts of the country.He said around 30,000 to 40,000 poultry farms were damaged completely or partially.
Khalil Sattar said number of egg-laying chickens is five million of which one million died in massive earthquake in northern areas.
These egg-laying chickens are so much important that daily 3 million to 3.5 million new chicks are taken in hatches from their eggs, he said.
