Big Dutchman is delighted with a sign of trust from Spain: brothers Oscar and David Montero recently furnished a third broiler house with systems from the German poultry equipment supplier. The new building, located 100 kilometres to the east of Valencia, is 135 metres long and 15 metres wide and can house 32,500 birds .

The experienced “Monteros” know very well that welfare in broiler production requires precise climate control. Considering the continental climate in their native region, which is characterised by very hot summers and comparatively cold winters, they selected CombiTunnel ventilation. This ventilation system already proved its worth in the poultry houses the brothers built in 2017 and 2019, respectively.

CombiTunnel ventilation combines two different ventilation modes and can thus intelligently compensate for large temperature differences:

• Tunnel mode | With high outside temperatures, the house is ventilated in tunnel mode, resulting in a good cooling effect with low energy consumption.
• Side mode | When temperatures are low, the ventilation system switches to side mode so the decentralised fresh air creates even temperatures throughout the entire poultry house.
