The cage-free egg market is expanding more rapidly than expected as we approach the 2025 deadline that many international brands committed to source cage-free eggs. As the largest egg producer in the world, China has demonstrated promising progress in standardizing and developing cage-free egg production.

On Tuesday, May 17th at 9 am EDT, The Poultry Site and FAI Farms will host a free one-hour webinar, Chinese Cage-Free Egg Industry: Achievements & Progress.

We’ll hear from three distinguished speakers with extensive experience in cage-free production who will provide an update on progress in China.

  • Dr. CongCong Li earned her PhD at KU Leuven in Belgium and focused her research on the behavior and welfare of broiler breeders. She worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and NYU Shanghai and gained experience in the welfare of dairy cows and farrowing sows and in meat consumption intention in rural China. At the beginning of March 2022, Dr. Li joined IQC where she is the Animal Welfare Programme Manager in China.
  • Murilo Quintilliano received his Animal Sciences degree from São Paulo State University. Since then, he has been working towards a better farming environment alongside universities, research centers, private companies and individuals.
