Else Meijer, MOBA’s head of marketing, and Luco Reitsema, product manager at MOBA, spoke to The Poultry Site’s Sarah Mikesell at IPPE 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Tell us what’s new at MOBA?

We have a great series of solutions to share with our customers here. We like to think of ourselves as building a mobile ecosystem for our customers.

We've always been a manufacturer of equipment for grading and processing, but now we are also evolving along with our customers to ensure that we meet their needs at every level of their operation.

The grading, production line and production floor is an important place where action takes place, but we also know we can provide our customers with more support by collecting digital data from equipment used.

The digital layer that we're now adding on top of the equipment will help us to provide digital driven services and digital applications that customers can access online to get more out of their equipment and increase efficiency in their operation.

Our philosophy involves ensuring provide connected solutions and integrated systems to  customer and bring an ecosystem of solutions to make their operation successful.

What equipment and innovations does MOBA offer to producers?

We have a lot of innovations to show here. First, I’ll start with the foundation that we have laid in our company for our customers, which is vision technology. We released this product for a series of egg graders back in 2024. It’s now a part of the technology that we're also bringing to the processing area which can reduce labor.

We are also launching a completely new breaker, called the Proxima breaker, with increased capacity and higher food safety standards. The yield from this product has been increased by some very innovative tricks from our MOBA Italy department.

We also have a new system for pasteurization, which we call Ohmic, and there are other innovations in this area.

The current star of the IPPE show is in the Magna area. The Magna is MOBA’s new platform of actuators that we have launched here at IPPE. It offers a 600-cases-per-hour capacity, which is an almost 20% increase compared to the traditional machines that we have been delivering to the market. We have enhanced food safety standards, better cleaning in place modules and higher capacities, not only in the nameplate capacity, but also in the way we help operators to use the equipment. That ultimately benefits the amount of actual output that will come from our egg grading line – so lots of big innovations there.

In the handling solutions department, we've innovated tremendously with the new MR30 Mark II, a special development for the American market, adapting to customer needs here in the US with specific packaging requirements. This machine reduces labor further by automating that procedure.

We've also introduced a new tracking and tracing system, which we call Egg Chain. It will be a series of products, and the first module is being released here at IPPE in Atlanta.
