Date of previous report on Newcastle disease situation in California: 17 January 2003 (see Disease Information, 16 [4], 24, dated 24 January 2003).
End of this report period: 7 July 2003.
No new positive premises have been detected in California since 31 May 2003. Approximately 3.9 million birds were destroyed.
Currently quarantined backyard flocks (infected and/or dangerous contacts) by county in California: Riverside (3) and San Bernardino (1).
