Hawaii egg production remains higher than last year's

HAWAII - September egg production totaled 9.7 million eggs, or 26,944 cases, 7 percent more than a year earlier, the Hawaii Agricultural Statistics Service reports. A 15 percent increase in the average rate of lay had offset the 7 percent decline in the average number of layers on hand from a year ago.
