Epidemic controls set to be eased, Govt worried about effect on export sales - BANGKOK - The chicken virus has swept through several hundred chicken farms, but Thai poultry products are still popular with overseas buyers, says Deputy Agriculture Minister Newin Chidchob.

"Orders keep flowing in to Thai poultry exporters, which is prompting the ministry to adjust epidemic control measures because it could hamper chicken exports,'' he said.

Poultry exporter Chaweewan Kampa said importers from Japan and the EU showed no fear of the outbreak and continued to order poultry products from her company.
