BANGKOK - Poultry farmers yesterday accused the Livestock Department of hiding the fact that hundreds of poultry farms were under attack by the bird flu outbreak, which was killing millions of chickens in the central provinces.

Farmers aghast as poultry drop dead - Livestock Dept rules out bird flu as cause - BANGKOK - Poultry farmers yesterday accused the Livestock Department of hiding the fact that hundreds of poultry farms were under attack by the bird flu outbreak, which was killing millions of chickens in the central provinces.

A farmer in Nakhon Pathom who lost about 10,000 chickens since the outbreak in November, said many of the dead chickens had symptoms similar to avian influenza, better known as bird flu.

The chickens developed high temperature, suffered internal bleeding and died suddenly.
