Ukraine Lifts Chicken Import Ban From Germany, Belgium, Netherlands

UKRAINE - Ukraine's state department of veterinary medicine has lifted the ban, imposed in the spring of 2003, on the import of poultry from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, according to the government press service Thursday.

Ukraine Lifts Chicken Import Ban From Germany, Belgium, Netherlands - UKRAINE - Ukraine's state department of veterinary medicine has lifted the ban, imposed in the spring of 2003, on the import of poultry from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, according to the government press service Thursday.

The ban was imposed following reports of bird flu cases in these countries. The ban was lifted six months after the disease was eradicated.

Ukraine imports over 100,000 metric tons of poultry per year.
