IPE wrap-up: Biosecurity a rising concern for poultry processors
Charles Beard, vice president of research for the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, told attendees of the International Poultry Exposition in Atlanta last week that a focus on biosecurity in the poultry industry is no longer an option, but a necessity.
"We are going down this road. We may go kicking and screaming—but the industry will be forced to increase its biosecurity," he said.
