Information received on 28 January 2004 from Dr Romano Marabelli, Director General of Veterinary Services, Ministry of Public Health, Rome:

Report date: 27 January 2004.

In accordance with Article 2.1.15.2. of the Terrestrial Animal Health Code, Italy may be considered free from Newcastle disease because a stamping-out policy is practised and six months have elapsed since stamping-out was applied to the last affected animal.
