VIV China 2004 Postponed - EU - VNU Exhibitions Europe have confirmed in a letter to exhibitors that due to the concerns over the outbreak of Avian Influenza in China, VIV China 2004 scheduled for Beijing on April has been postponed. This will now be held in Shanghai in September.

Letter to exhibitors by J.A. Essink, Director of VNU Exhibitions Europe.
19th February 2004

Dear exhibitor,

Referring to our e-mail dated the 4th of February, we inform you that we have decided, in close consultation with our Chinese partner CNAVS, to postpone VIV China 2004 in Beijing from 21-23 April 2004 to 7-9 September 2004 in Shanghai (Everbright Convention and Exhibition Center).

The current avian flu situation could well be under control in China by April. However, we believe that April is too soon to get an optimal result in national and international attendance and investment potential.

The postponed exhibition will be held in Shanghai, which is, as Beijing, a central location in China for animal husbandry production and distribution. Shanghai and Everbright Exhibition Center offer all facilities needed to organise an international exhibition.

As a registered exhibitor you will receive the new floor plan, including your new booth location shortly. Your payments to VNU Exhibitions regarding your booth rental at VIV China 2004 will be automatically transferred to this new event.

Please contact the VIV-team (Anneke van Rooyen) if you have any questions, email: [email protected].
