Information received on 2 March 2004 from Dr Brian Evans, Executive Director, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Ottawa:
End of previous report period: 23 February 2004 (see Disease Information, 17 [9], 60, dated 27 February 2004).
End of this report period: 2 March 2004.
On 2 March 2004, the laboratory reported a virus having an intravenous pathogenicity index of 0.0.
Surveillance of trace-outs as well as premises within a 5-km area around the affected farm has thus far shown no evidence of spread to neighbouring farms.
