Japanese meat packers extend full traceability to pork, poultry
JAPAN - Japanese poultry and pork processors will begin maintaining and offering the same product traceability to their retail customers and consumers that they currently offer for beef. The increased traceability is being driven by consumer concerns regarding overall meat product safety there stemming from the recent avian influenza epidemic and the nation's struggle with BSE.
