Growth of Kentucky's Poultry Industry Slows to 'Maturity Stage'

KENTUCKY - Depending on whom you ask, the region's poultry industry is either a blessing or a curse. For many farmers, raising chickens for companies such as Tyson or Perdue has led to a better standard of living. In McLean County, the expansion of poultry houses has allowed county officials to lower property taxes twice since poultry arrived in the late 1990s.
