Pathogen kill in Chicken Manure - VANCOUVER - First American Scientific Corporation (OTC BB: FASC) announced results from independent laboratories demonstrating that the Company’s proprietary technology is effective in removing bacterial pathogens from raw chicken manure and from human waste.

“These independently conducted tests clearly indicate that the KDS technology is effective in treating and removing pathogens from animal and human waste,” stated Brian Nichols, President of First American Scientific Corporation. “Not only does this validate the value of our technology for treating animal waste products, but this opens opportunities for First American Scientific Corp. to work with municipal sewage and waste management authorities on solving poultry waste issues including the recent outbreak of the avian flu virus in British Columbia, Canada.”

One report stated that raw chicken manure processed in the KDS Micronex shows that while the raw manure tested positive for E.coli, none could be detected after processing. The same report shows that 99% of the total fecal coliforms are removed by the KDS process. Yet another lab report shows that no salmonella was detectable in the poultry manure or the human waste processed by the KDS Micronex.

According to Dr. Sundar Narayan Ph.D, P.Eng, First American’s chief scientist and Vice President of Research, “while we have not been allowed direct access to confirmed avian flu virus infected manures, our lab tests were performed on raw chicken manure taken from the infected area prior to the outbreak. After processing, these samples were pathogen free.” The Dr. further states, “It is very likely that the same forces present in the KDS’s processor will also destroy the protein structure of the virus and its DNA.”

“The application of KDS technology to animal and human waste problems represents a multimillion dollar opportunity for the company in Canada, the USA, Mexico and other countries,” stated Cal Kantonen, FASC’s Chairman “In addition to the ability to remove pathogens, the final by-product is a clean green combustible fuel that can be recycled as a source of energy.
