More humane food processing
US - With all the noise over obesity and the danger of saturated fats, it sometimes seems like the nation's fast-food operators can't do anything right. McDonald's Corp., though, is on the verge of taking a big step forward in corporate responsibility. The firm said recently that it is studying whether to require processors to adopt a method for slaughtering poultry that is much more humane than current methods.
