UKRAINE - Grain consumption in 2005 by Ukrainian poultry breeding industry will increase by 100,000 tons due to a forecast increase in the production of poultry meat.

Ukraine's poultry industry to raise grain usage in 2005 - UKRAINE - Grain consumption in 2005 by Ukrainian poultry breeding industry will increase by 100,000 tons due to a forecast increase in the production of poultry meat.

According to the Head of Board of the Association "Poultry Breeders' Union of Ukraine" Olexandr Bakumenko, the industry had used 1.5 million tons of compound feeds last year. In 2005 the usage of feeds is seen to reach 1.64 million tons. As the compound feeds contain 70 percent of forage grain, the consumption of the latter will increase from 1.05 million tons in 2004 to 1.15 million tons this year.

Agrarian Policy Ministry forecasts a 40-percent increase in production of poultry meet in 2005.
