California restaurants plan dinner to support foie gras producers

CALIFORNIA - Foie gras production has become a topic of debate in many states, and California has even enacted legislation that will prohibit the force feeding of ducks to produce foie gras and the sale of foie gras produced in such a way.

In an effort to support California duck farmers and Sonoma Foie Gras, the state's only producer of the delicacy made from the engorged livers of ducks and geese, two chefs are planning a 12-course dinner, with each course featuring foie gras or duck.
