Casablanca port poultry farmers suffer from strike

MOROCCO - Farmers may see their livestock die for lack of food, warned the Inter-Professional Federation of the Poultry Sector.

The truck drivers' strike, which has been blocking all merchandise coming in and out of the Casablanca port since May 2, is starting to take its toll on poultry farmers.

“Nearly all farmers are left with insufficient reserves and no longer have enough food for their livestock,” lamented the Inter-Professional Federation of the Poultry Sector in a communiqué dated May 9.
