Hybro and University of Wageningen launch collaborative venture
THE NETHERLANDS - With effect from May 1st 2005, Mr. Marc Rutten joins Hybro B.V. as Geneticist. Marc will work jointly for Hybro B.V. and the Animal Breeding and Genetics Group of Wageningen University.
The position at Hybro has been created specifically to optimise a total breeding value estimation system, using the most modern techniques available - and represents a pivotal investment in the Dutch poultry breeding company's ongoing breeding programme and Hybro's commitment to develop state-of-the-art breeding technology resulting in highly competitive products for the global poultry industry.
"This is a unique cooperative venture between Hybro B.V. and Wageningen University, " says Gosse Veninga, Head of Hybro Breeding department, "which has been developed specifically to further strengthen the Hybro Breeding Programme.
"Wageningen has an outstanding reputation for its work in the field of poultry genetics, which will greatly accelerate our work to assure the continued delivery of world-leading products in the commercial poultry sector globally."
After graduating cum laude in Animal Breeding and Genetics at Wageningen University in 1999, Marc continued with a PhD-project at the same university in 2000. He successfully defended his thesis in the Aula of Wageningen University on May 18th 2005.
Within Hybro B.V., Marc will report to Gosse Veninga, Head of the Breeding Department.chnical service and short lines of communication, as well as a refreshing openness that is geared to building long-standing, mutually rewarding partnerships for the future."
