Gold Kist net income sags in Q3
US - Gold Kist Inc.'s profit decreased about 18 percent in the third quarter, mirroring a decline in poultry prices.The Atlanta-based poultry company (NASDAQ: GKIS) had net income of $44.4 million on $598.8 million in sales, compared with net income of $54.1 million on $631.5 million in sales in the third quarter of 2004. Earnings were 87 cents a share in the third quarter. The company was not publicly traded in the third quarter of 2004.
