China Broiler Market Weekly
CHINA - In this weeks China Broiler Market Weekly, eFeedLink report that Broiler prices were mostly higher in China in the week ending Jan 25.
Price summary
Prices of fast growth (49 days) broilers in Guangdong province and Guangxi Zhuang Region recorded substantial gains.
Market analysis
Prices of fast growth broilers were sharply higher in Guangdong province and Guangxi Zhuang Region in the run up to Spring Festival (falls on Jan 29). Chicken traders and meat processing plants have continued to buy poultry stocks. Increased demand also lifted prices of yellow feather chickens.
Broiler prices were slightly higher in Shandong, Liaoning and Henan provinces. Bird flu concerns, particularly in Liaoning, had prevented demand from rising strongly. Cross province deliveries were also affected by heavy snowfall in these regions.
In Jiangsu province, broilers prices gave up gains of the previous week after most meat processing plants reduce their purchases of white feather chickens. Higher poultry meat supplies from frozen meat plants had also sent prices lower.
Market forecast
China's broiler prices are expected to make some gains in the next few days. Over the week-long Spring Festival holidays (from Jan 29), prices would remain stable.
