Crisis Talks for South Australia Egg Tade

AUSTRALIA - The SA Farmers Federation will hold a crisis meeting with local egg producers on Monday, to discuss ways to save the industry.

The federation's Poultry Committee deputy chairwoman and owner of Sunrise Eggs, Carolyn Harvey, said the meeting would discuss ways to continue production.

"We are going to fight this until the bitter end because we know the community is on our side," she said yesterday.

The meeting comes as local producers record a drop in sales.

Golden Eggs managing director Mark Bressington said sales had dropped by about 45 per cent since the introduction of interstate eggs.
