Reactions To Poultry Culling Operations

TURKEY - Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Namik Tan has indicated that Turkey welcomes related sensitivity and reactions vis-a-vis poultry culling operations with great understanding.

In a weekly press conference, Tan reminded that all poultry in infected regions of Turkey are being culled.

Tan stated that poultry culling will continue based on norms of the world animal health organization's criteria.

Tan stressed that comments and criticisms pertaining to poultry culling in Turkey have been received by Turkish representations in Europe. According to Tan, none of Turkey's neighboring countries has issued a warning against travelling in Turkey. ''There has not been a travel ban put on Turkey by any of its neighbors.''
