US - Turkey eggs in incubators up 10%, report the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).Eggs in Incubators on February 1 Up 10 Percent
Turkey eggs in incubators on February 1, 2006, in the United States totaled 29.8 million, up 10 percent
from February 1 a year ago. Eggs in incubators were slightly above the January 1, 2006 total of
29.8 million eggs.
Regional changes from the previous year were: East North Central up 5 percent, West
North Central up 9 percent, North and South Atlantic up 27 percent, and South Central and West
combined, down 10 percent.
Poults Placed During January Up 11 Percent From Last Year
The 24.4 million poults placed during January 2006 in the United States were up 11 percent from the
number placed during the same month a year ago. Placements were up 3 percent from December 2005.
Regional changes from the previous year were: East North Central up 5 percent, West North Central up
13 percent, North and South Atlantic up 19 percent, South Central and West were unchanged from last
year.
