CHINA - China's total poultry exports rose 32.8 percent year on year in January 2006 to 1.7 million heads, valued at US$2.851 million, according to recent data from China's General Administration of Customs.

China has resumed its live poultry supply to Hong Kong on Mar 26 although bird flu concerns continue to plague the poultry industry.

Guangdong will resume the supply to Hong Kong by exporting 20,000 live chickens a day.

Before the ban on live chicken imports from Guangdong was imposed three weeks ago, Hong Kong imported 30,000 poultry a day from the province.
