Hybro opens 2006 Asian Counterparts' Seminar series
THE NETHERLANDS - Hybro Asia presented its 2nd Edition of the Counterparts’ Seminar Series, with delegates travelling from all over Asia to take part in the three-day programme, held in Bangkok, Thailand.
With “Think meat...think broiler” as the theme for this year’s programme, Hybro attracted production managers and technical professionals from The Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, China and India to participate in this interactive course on
modern broiler management.
The course opened with a participation in the first day of Poultry Focus, which offered participants a broader understanding of food and feed
safety, the incubation of high yielding embryos, developments in genetics and optimising profitability in a broiler business. Day two included an interactive discussion on the 10 golden days of a broiler life, optimising growth management, bio-security and vaccination programs, managing mechanical ventilation and computing bottom-line results, with the course culminating on day three with a visit to a Chaveevan Group cooking plant and a discussion on the development and future of the broiler industry with the Thailand experience as a model.
Contributors to the development of materials and resources for the Counterparts Seminar included facilitators Dr. Ron Meijerhof (Hybro
Senior Technical Specialist), Dr. Andre Derkx (Hybro Chief Veterinarian), Mr. David Santos (general manager, Chaveevan Group), Mr. Vladimir Walk (Hybro Area Manager Asia), Dr. Rolando Valientes (Hybro Technical Advisor, Asia) and Dr. Solomon Benigno, Jr. (Hybro Technical Manager Asia).
“The format of this year’s Counterparts Seminar was well-received when we launched this programme initially in March 2005,” explained Vladimir Walk. “And 2006 programme content has been developed to reflect the most important issues for the broiler industry here in Asia.
Hybro Asia has received excellent feedback from this year’s participants, who praised the broiler breeding company for a well-planned event that shared the most advanced thinking and the latest, practical approaches to managing modern broiler operations.
“This type of openness and information-sharing has become something of a trademark for the way Hybro does business”, concluded Vladimir Walk,
“and here in Asia, where we have seen that by sharing our extensive knowledge-base, we can help to underpin efficiency and profitability
throughout the poultry meat chain, we will continue to use this format to make a contribution to the growth of the Asian poultry sector.”
