Thailand seeks to increase exports of chicken and shrimp

BANGKOK - The Thai Ministry of Commerce will invite trading partners from Europe and the Middle East to inspect chicken and shrimp production in Thailand with a view to boosting exports of these products, local media reported.

Chantra Purnariksha, Director General of the ministry's Department of Export Promotion, was quoted by the Thailand News Agency as saying that trading partners in Europe and the Middle East will be invited to inspect production and processing plants in Thailand in May to make sure that the products are free of avian influenza and toxic chemical residue problems.

Thailand’s chicken and shrimp processing companies are scheduled to visit Japan in March or April to further promote boiled chicken exports, she added.-Enditem
