Bird Flu Restrictions Lifted On Norfolk Farms

UK - Norfolk's poultry industry begun to put the spectre of bird flu behind as the majority of movement restrictions were lifted from the county's farms.

Restrictions have been removed from 33 of the farms owned by Attleborough-based Banham Poultry, owner of Whitford Lodge Farm in North Tuddenham, near Dereham, the first farm where the H7N3 virus was detected.

A 1km-restriction zone is still in place around Whitford Lodge Farm and two other infected free-range farms in the village.

Government vets have been testing poultry premises within 3km of the infected sites since the virus was first detected but have failed to find any further trace of the disease.
