Mass bird death reported from two Novosibirsk reg villages

RUSSIA - A quarantine has been imposed in two villages in the Novosibirsk region because of mass bird death there.

Specialists have already established that the death of more than 50 chickens in the village of Reshety was caused by the bird flu, but what caused the death of almost 70 chickens, ducks and geese in the village of Lyagushachye is not finally established, but it might be the same H5N1.

The fist test results for Lyagushachye did not confirm it, but tests are being conducted again, the head of the territorial consumer rights protection service, Valery Mikheyev, told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
