UAE bans imports of poultry from Denmark

UAE - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) banned on Saturday imports of all kinds of wild and domesticated birds and pets and their related products and droppings from Fion town in Denmark, where cases of bird flu were reported, the local news agency WAM said.

A ministerial resolution issued by Mohammed Saeed Al Kindi, UAE Minister of Environment and Water, demanded the ministry’s animal wealth department to coordinate efforts with other authorities concerned to put the ban in place.

The minister was acted upon receiving information from the World Animal Health Organisation about the appearance of the bird flu in the Danish town.
