Aussie poultry facility comes on line in southern Vietnam

VIETNAM - Australia’s Unitek poultry enterprise has begun operations this week on a modern poultry processing factory in the southern Vietnam, local Tuoi Tre newspaper reported Saturday.

Located in the Loteco Industrial Zone, the US$5 million-plant equipped with the latest technology from France’s Bayle Industries is designed to handle 6000 animals per hour.

Unitek, founded by a group of Australian-Vietnamese businessmen in 1987 has targeted Vietnam’s food processing industry based on the high demand for poultry-based foodstuffs in the country.
