INDIA - Animal Husbandry Secretary Leena Nair and Commissioner Hemanth Kumar Sinha interacted with poultry farmers and discussed various measures to be taken up to strengthen the poultry industry here on Wednesday. The poultry farmers demanded the State Government to take initiatives to create a poultry zone comprising Namakkal and declare it as not affected by the bird flu. This move would help the poultry farmers to resume the egg export, which was affected following the outbreak of bird flu in certain parts of the country. Source: The Hindu
