Commission thanks poultry industry

OKLAHOMA - A television commercial in which members of the Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission (OSRC) thank poultry farmers and the poultry industry for their efforts in moving poultry litter out of the Illinois River watershed will air soon in Oklahoma, according to a statement released by OSRC Chairman Bill Blackard of Tahlequah.

The ad features three commissioners - retired businessman and OSRC Chairman Bill Blackard of Tahlequah, educator and former chairman Jan Rucker of Tahlequah and independent insurance agent and former chairman Rick Stubblefield of Proctor.

The ad thanks members of the poultry industry for work being done to truck poultry litter out of the Illinois River watershed, as well as a $1.1 million cash gift to help re-grow vegetation along the banks of scenic streams.
