UK Livestock Companys Decend On Hanover Genetics Show

UK - More than 80 UK companies and livestock breed societies will descend en masse on the German city of Hanover later this month for the giant Eurotier livestock genetics show.

The UK presence will be on display in two pavilions - one in the pig hall and the second in the ruminant section - where live pigs, sheep and cattle will be on display to show what the country has to offer the world's livestock farmers.

During the four days of the show - November 14-17 - more than 110,000 visitors from more than 100 countries are expected to attend.

Among the companies represented at the event will be the English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX), British Pig Executive (BPEX), Livestock and Meat Commission of Northern Ireland (LMC), the International Agriculture and Technology Center (IATC) and UK Trade and Investment.

Jean-Pierre Garnier, MLC Export Manager, said: "This is the largest show in the world for livestock genetics.
