Buying pool saves poultry firms on electricity
DELAWARE - About 200 members of the Delmarva Poultry Industry group expect to save between $500 and $675 on electricity during the first half of 2007.That's because they created a buying pool and took bids from electric suppliers earlier this month. The winner was Washington Gas Energy Services, reported Roger Marino, president of the group.
The chicken farmers expect to save about 15 percent off the generation portion of their electric bills from January to June 2007.
