Welsh Federation of Poultry Clubs secretary Edward Page said he was delighted with the high standard of the 950 entries, topped by a Spangled Old English Game male, which took the overall championship for Martin Woolway from Gorseinon, Swansea.

Reserve champion was a Gold Brahma pullet from Sue Black of Penllergaer, Swansea. Mr Page said, "The judges were very pleased with the standards and there were some exceptional birds. "It's nice to be back, and no surprise to see Martin Woolway continue his winning streak."
